Offers FedEx Shipping YEAR-ROUND
The
Desert Lightning Community Center Offers FedEx shipping. FedEx shipping
is less expensive then most overnight shipping companies. For
time-critical packages, FedEx Express offers the most reliable,
time-definite delivery in 1, 2, or 3 business days, to more than 210
countries. The
Community Center offers Priority Overnight with delivery by 10:30 am the
next day in most areas. Standard Overnight delivery arrives no later
then close of business day, (some rural areas may take an extra day).
There is also a 2 Business Days Express and 3 Business Day Express Saver
package. With
FedEx Express
International you can get Time-definite delivery of
your time-critical packages to more than 210 countries.
When
shipping your package keep these tips in mind: small express boxes and
envelopes are available at the center. Clear plastic shipping tape is
most preferred; do not use cellophane tape, masking tape, duct tape,
Kraft paper tape, string or rope. We prefer no paper wrapping around
your FedEx packages. For
all your packages it is recommended that you have your package in the
Community Center NLT 2 p.m. to go out the same day (Mon thru Fri). If
you come later then the time listed above, your package will not go out

Congressional Award Program
The Congressional
Award is a public partnership created by Congress to
promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and
service in America’s youth. The CAP provides a unique
opportunity for young people to set and achieve
personally challenging goals that build character and
foster community service, personal development, and
citizenship. This program is open to all 14-23 year
olds, military or civilian. Participants may earn
Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Certificates and
Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four
program areas: volunteer public service, personal
development, physical fitness and
expedition/exploration. Each level requires a minimum
number of hours and is carried over to the next level.
Air Force Youth Programs and
Community Center Programs coordinate the Congressional
Award, a non-competitive program which recognizes excellence
in initiative, achievement, and service among young persons
ages 14 - 23. Youth are challenged to set goals in:
- Voluntary Public
service
- Personal Development
- Physical Fitness
- Expedition or
Exploration

about the program, teens (ages 14-17), may contact the
